Website: Andy Priaulx

Currently: Competing in FIA World Touring Car Championship for BMW.

Career highlights: 2005, 2006 & 2007 FIA World Touring Car Champion; 2004 FIA European Touring Car Champion; 1999 Renault Spider Cup Champion; 1995 MSA British Hill Climb Champion

Like fellow ambassadors Damon Hill, Jason Plato and Robert Reid, Andy is another of British motor sport’s great success stories. He was World Touring Car Champion for three years running – a near unbelievable feat – but before that all his racing was done in the UK. He was a winner in club-level karting in the early Nineties, became British Hill Climb Champion in 1995, won the BTCC-supporting Renault Spider sportscar title in 1999 and then was a front-runner in British Formula 3.

A switch to the British Touring Car Championship followed – he achieved pole position for his first BTCC race and later went on to achieve the first race wins for the factory Honda team’s new Civic Type R model. More than a decade competing in British motor sport clearly prepared him to take on the best in the world as underlined by his three WTCC titles with the factory BMW team. His alliance with BMW also recently resulted in him testing for the Williams F1 team when it used the German manufacturer’s engines.
