Monday, 15 June 2009
The British-based Australian was part of the winning crew which took Peugeot to top honours after many years of Audi dominance.

"On behalf of everyone involved with UK motor sport, I would like to congratulate David Brabham on his superb victory for Peugeot in this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hour race.,” said Colin Hilton, Chief Executive of the Motor Sports Association:

"David has been working closely with the MSA for the last few years as an ambassador for the Go Motorsport initiative and in his role as Director of the MSA's Race Elite programme – a the scheme that is turning out some great drivers, notably this year's Autosport McLaren Young Driver of the Year, Alexander Sims. David is a great role model for these young drivers; he has extraordinary dedication and commitment and these are qualities that he is instilling in his protégés. There is no better way to demonstrate the road to success than to go out and win one of the world's greatest races."

Two other Go Motorsport ambassadors were also among the front-runners. Last year’s victor Allan McNish was also on the podium, the Scot finished third for Audi. Anthony Davidson was a member of the impressive Aston Martin squad.
